Services are subject to availability and to a formal engagement letter. The firm reserves the right to decline to act in any matter.

4. Website Use

This website is provided for informational purposes only. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice. Any enquiry submitted through the website does not create a lawyer-client relationship. A lawyer-client relationship is only established upon the firm's acceptance of an engagement and the execution of an engagement letter.

You agree not to use this website to:

5. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, design, and structure, is the property of booncounara and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may print or save pages for personal, non-commercial use only. All other uses require written consent from the firm.

6. Fees and Payment

Fees for services are as stated on this website and confirmed in writing before any work begins. All fees are quoted exclusive of goods and services tax (GST), which will be added at the prevailing Singapore rate. Court filing fees and disbursements, where applicable, are additional and will be communicated in advance. Payment is due as specified in the engagement letter.

7. Service Terms

For the Drawing-Room Sitting, the fee covers one meeting of approximately one hour and the written summary. For the Patient Course in Family Proceedings and Considered Mediation, detailed scope, terms, and timelines are set out in the engagement letter. The firm will not take any significant step in a matter without the client's prior knowledge and agreement.

8. Disclaimers

The firm provides services with reasonable care and skill. However, the outcome of any legal matter cannot be determined in advance, and the firm does not represent that a particular outcome will be achieved. Legal proceedings are subject to the decisions of the courts, which are independent of the firm.

This website is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not responsible for any loss arising from reliance on information on this website.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, the firm's liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with services provided under these terms is limited to the fees paid by the client for the specific service giving rise to the claim. The firm is not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic losses.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the firm harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of this website.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement by giving reasonable notice in writing, subject to the terms of the engagement letter. Upon termination, the client remains responsible for fees incurred to the date of termination. The firm will assist in the orderly transition of the matter to other counsel where required.

12. Confidentiality

All information disclosed by clients to the firm is subject to legal professional privilege and is treated in confidence. The firm will not disclose client information except as required by law, with the client's consent, or as necessary for the conduct of the matter. This obligation survives termination of the engagement.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms shall first be referred to informal resolution between the parties. If not resolved within thirty days, the dispute shall be submitted to the Singapore Mediation Centre for mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, the courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore.

14. General

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force. A failure by the firm to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties on the matters covered, superseding any prior discussions.

15. Changes to These Terms

The firm may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of this website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
