What We Offer
Three Ways We May Assist
Each service is shaped around the particular circumstances of the family concerned, not a general template.

A first meeting conducted at the pace of an ordinary conversation. A written summary follows. Suitable for those who would value a settled view before considering further steps.
- Private, unhurried setting
- Written summary provided
- No obligation to proceed
Patient Course in Family Proceedings
Representation in divorce, separation, and custody proceedings at a measured pace. The firm prefers settled outcomes where they are possible and works toward them steadily.

- Measured, considered approach
Considered Mediation
Mediation work in family disputes, conducted with restraint and care for the practical effect on the family. A calmer path to resolution, where the parties retain more control over the outcome.
- Family dispute mediation
- Collaborative process
- Care for family relationships
Why booncounara

Common Questions
Questions Clients Often Raise
What happens at a Drawing-Room Sitting?
The sitting is a private meeting, usually around an hour, conducted at the firm's office at Peninsula Plaza. You may describe your situation in your own words. The lawyer will ask a few clarifying questions, offer a settled view of your position, and provide a written summary afterwards. There is no obligation to engage the firm further.
How long do family proceedings typically take?
It depends considerably on the complexity of the matter and whether both parties are willing to reach a settlement. Uncontested divorces can conclude in three to five months; contested proceedings may take longer. The firm will give you a realistic view of the timeline at the outset.
Is mediation a suitable alternative to proceedings?
For many families, yes. Mediation allows the parties to reach an arrangement they have shaped themselves, rather than one decided by a court. It tends to be less adversarial and often preserves more of the family's capacity to co-operate afterwards, which matters where children are involved.
Are your fees fixed or hourly?
The firm offers fixed-fee arrangements for each of the three services listed. The Drawing-Room Sitting is SGD 175, the Patient Course in Family Proceedings is SGD 470, and Considered Mediation is SGD 330. All fees are stated before any work begins.
Can I bring someone with me to the first sitting?
You may bring a trusted person if that would make you more comfortable. The lawyer will, however, need to speak with you directly about the particulars of your situation, so it is worth bearing in mind that some of what is discussed will be personal.
Is everything I say kept confidential?
Yes. All communications between client and solicitor are subject to legal professional privilege. The firm does not share client information with third parties except where required by law or with the client's express instruction.
